You can but it's quite difficult. You need a large room (one that no one lives in) and basically follow a schedule to:
1) Keep the lights on for the 12 hours you want them to sleep, and 2) keep the lights off for the 12 hours when you want them to be awake.
You cannot miss a day or hour and the whole process can take over several months so I'd suggest not doing it at all and just play with your hamster for the few hours that you and it are awake.
I don't think hamsters can play make-believe with there biological clock :P
well i ive owned a hamster before and its practicaly impossible to train them to do anything at all, but because hamsters are naturaly nocturnal, thats what they're probably going to be forever. but i know that ferrets sleep all day and they wake up around the time that you usualy let them out or feed them, so maybe you could try to wake it up at certain times of the day and he might get used to it.
haha i had a hampster and i kept playing with it in the day so it just adapted to go to sleep in the night now that it knows i play with it in the day...but i personaly like to play with it when its still drowsy
absolutely not. i am sorry, but u just cant change that, in the past i've had tons of hamsters and i read that whenu try that, they may even die, so dont even think about it. thats just how god created them.
I was wondering the same thing b/c my daughters hamster is played w/ all day and it sleeps most nights poor thing she just won't leave it alone half the time. she's had it 2 months when will the novalty wear off! I'm forever haveing to tell her to put it back in the cage so she can do her chores!
NO! Hamsters are nocturnal. There is no way of changing this, and why would u want to?
Hamsters are naturally nocturnal and I don't think it is a good idea to try and mess with it's brain. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

Yes you can but i wouldn't because your hamster won't live as long! If you let your hamster do what it should then your hamster would live longer and i really wouldn't do it! You could make your room really dark during the day and at night have the lights on! But PLEASE don't do that! Your hamster will not live as long as he/she would normally live!
