Is it SAFE to put these two hamsters by each other?

I have a hamster named Pumpkin and my sister has a hamster named Cookie. Cookie and Pumpkin are actual sisters. I got Pumkin a couple weeks after my sister got Cookie. Would Cookie and Pumpkin still remember each other? And would it be safe for them to meet in seperate balls, safe for them to meet at a small distance apart, and safe to meet in the same cage? (I'm not putting them in the same cage though!)
Answers:
If they are syrian hamsters they should be kept apart at all times.
2 females will allways fight if they meet even if they are siblings.
Russian hamsters or roborosskis may be compatable but I would be very careful if you try and introduce them in one of their cages, they need to meet on neutral ground or one will think the other is trying to steal its territory. If they are both in seperate balls and do not come in to direct contact then it should be ok.
They will not remember each other and should be treated as if they had never been together.
ya as long if they are the same!

good luck!
NOOO!! im pretty sure its a bad idea , we had hamsters, and they dont like new recruits, like we had coconut and took her out for a week cus she had babies, then we out them back in and they killed her:( and we had a hamster (chubby III) and he went through the wall then the neighboor put it with his teddybear hamster and it killed it too.i dont know if its bad luck, just experiance?
enclose several square feet on the floor, put them at opposite ends, free to walk and you'll know instantly. be prepared to seperate them though. that's a bit scary to do.
I, when I was a child, raised hamsters. If you place a male in with a female, and the male wants to mate, but the female is not in the mood, they will fight and finally kill each other. That is what happened to my two hamsters, as the male chewed the females head right off. I didn't know that would happen, as the pet shop that I bought them at, told me they were both males, and I was to young to know the difference. I do know, two of the same sex should get along very well together, as long as there is plenty of food and water, and play room for the both of them.
it depends on what type of hamsters they are
some hamsters are really aggressive against each other ad others and some are friendly
NOOO! We breed hamsters and have had some bad experiences like gut eaten out, heads gone DONT ATTEMPT IT!! We have 2 though but u dont its NOT SAFE Trustme EVEN THE SME SEX No mater what type!! Even if theyre raised 2gether KEEP THEM AWY!!!Its really un expected mine always luv eachothr and snuggle but then they just randomly atack
Put them next to each other but watch closley. My friend and me used to do that and they only fought every now and then. Meeting in separated balls is nothing to worry about. :P
if they are dwarf hamsters they will kill each other probably
Syrian hamsters are solitary animals and should never have contact with each other - even supervised visits are out, no matter what sex they are, no matter what relationship to each other they are, they WILL FIGHT, and a fight can turn deadly in an instant. It isn't worth it. Syrians must always be kept one per cage. They don't need the company of other hamsters, and they don't want the company of other hamsters, so it's unfair to force them into each other's company.
Dwarf hamsters, on the other hand, are a social species (all three - Winter White, Roborovski and Campbell's) and can *usually* interact with each other in same sex pairs (of the same species, of course - never put two hamsters of different species together, that's just asking for a fight!) just fine. If you see fighting with dwarf hamsters though, separate them, and do not put them back together. Once blood has been drawn, the two will never reconcile.
Usually females will adapt to one another. I have introduced female mice with one another by putting a little bedding from each cage into the other cage. They can get used to the scent of the other. I usually do that for a few days in a row. If you can, put their cages really close together as well.
If and when you do put them in the same cage, make sure you have enough time (at least an hour) to make sure they are not going to kill each other. They may smack at each other a little at first. Make sure you have thick gloves in case you have to separate them.
Good luck!
Well since they have been apart for sooo long I doubt that they want to be together, or will remeber eachother. Im still trying to figure out why you want them to know eachother if they're not going to be in the same cage. You should've kept them together.
no the smell will be gone and they won't remember each other, they will fight to the death when in the same cage.
My females fight more than the males.
Hamsters are solitary animals which mean they have to live on their own. Put them together and one will die.. you have been warned! Seriously, they will fight so its best to keep them apart.
if they are dwarf hamsters it will prolly be ok. just watch them carefully. but if they are larger hamsters DONT DO IT! they WILL get hurt because they will both want to teach the other one that they are the dominant one
