Is my Hamsters nesting habits weird?

My Syriane's Hamster appeared to be nesting under her Water Bottle, she had dragged all the cotton stuff (from the pet store) that I put in to her cage under there.
But then she climbed the tube to her lookout area, where she is stock pilling her food, then went to sleep up there.
What is that? Should I put some cotton stuff up there to help her out?
Answers:
Nah, she's just sleeping in different areas, trying to find that best place to make a permanent nest. It's like you trying all the rooms in your house to see which will make the best bedroom.
She'll stuff her cheeks with the bedding material and move it up there if she makes a permanent nest up there. Kinda like you would move your pillows and blankets into the room you were sleeping in.
She's just being a normal hamster. Stockpiling food is normal also. Like keeping treats under your bed! :)
Not at all, its normal. Just put more of that cotton in there. She'll do what she wants with it.
my sisters guinea pigs like sleeping under their water bottles, so it must be a rodent thing. hamsters by their nature stock pile their food, it is what they do.
ok hamsters r weird creatures. they r differnt from cats and dogs so its not as easy to figure out what they want. but they r kinda like us. ok, say if i want my bed really fluffy but all my pillows on the couch when im watching tv, that wood b kinda like the same thing. i had a hamster when i was little and it did sorta the same thing. just live with it- trust me nothing is wrong wit ur hamsster!
This is common behavior for hamsters. If you want to make him really happy just give him some newspaper torn into 3 inch by 1 inch strips!!
He will use them to make his nest, will chew on them, and have a great time.
Newspaper is made with nontoxic inks, and a scientific study showed that the newspaper is even a good addition to a hamster's diet as well as good nesting material and absorbent cage bedding.
No leave her alone. She'll shift her stuff right back where she wants it anyway. Normally they like to keep their food and sleeping quaters in separate areas. Just enjoy the show. Hamsters do this kind of thing all the time.
Nah, it's normal.
Mine to date have slept in food bowls, in corner, the house I provide, I had 1 who always kicked the top 1/2 of clip together plastic houses off.. and most have only used the bedding about 1/2 the time, so.. ye.
Bottom line is, hamsters will sleep wherever takes there fancy at that point.
Yes you should put some cotton stuff up there. But with her making a nest under the water bottle isn't weird. Some hamsters make their nest in the weirdest places. I'm not sure why she put her food up in the look out area but you should definetly put some bedding up there.
Before you do any thing take the cotten away if she eats it it will kill her!! But it is normal If any thing she is smart by putting the cotton there so the water want get her bedding wet just vote me best answer please!!:]
