Is it possible?

is it possible to clean my hamster? he smells like poo and trust me it is not his cage. is it possible to clean him without like drowning him?
Answers:
Please, don't bath hamster! It's stressful and unnatural. Hamster can catch cold and water strips the natural oils from hamster's fur.
Just buy a chinchilla sand (not dust) and give him it in a bowl. Hamster will roll in it and so clean him.
try washing him in a bowl =]
if u go to the pet store u can find bath wipes or this spray for the animals and it smells really good :]
Give him a bath, it won't hurt him. Just make sure that you dry him well so he doesn't get sick. Keep him warm until he dries.
Get a washcloth and put luke-warm water on it and rub him with that. Make sure to dry him off with a towel though, and make sure he is all the way dry, or else he will get sick!!
Yes, it is, get a mild soap and put it on a damp washcloth, rub him gently until he smells good again, then you MUST, absolutely MUST, either rub him dry with a dry towel or blow dry him. I blew dried mine many times, it scares them the first couple times but is NOT in any way BAD for them. If you do not dry him well enough he could get a cold and pass on. Hamsters do not easily survive any illness, remember that. GOOD LUCK! : )
there are special small animal shampoos, and be sure to wash your hamster in a draft-free area that isn't cold since a bath can be a very scarry thing for your hamster.
look for a shampoo that is easy to use and that is specially formulated for small animals (as in no dog shampoo!)
also, the water temperature should be fairly warm so then if you stick your hand under it, your hand should feel comfortable RIGHT away. too cold and your hamster will hate it, too warm and your hamster will hate it, and just right might make it more comfortable (even though you shouldn't expect it to like water since its not the most natural thing for a hamster to like in the first place)
go to the pet store and get a "dust bath" that way he can clean himself
Get a pan or the bathtub and fill it with a centimater of water. You can buy special hammy soap at the pet store. Put him in it, just don't put it on his eyes. Put him in a towel and rub him. Make sure it is warm enough, but not too hot.
Get a bowl containing 2 inches of warm water. Test the temperature with your elbow to make sure it is not too hot or too cold.
Wet the hamster and gently rub it into the dirty area to cleanse it. Take extreme care not to let any water get near the nose, mouth, ears or eyes.
If your hamster has something particularly sticky that鈥檚 can鈥檛 be cut out in its fur, then you can use shampoo, but it must be baby shampoo. Again, make sure not to get it near the hamster鈥檚 face.
Carefully rinse out the shampoo, and place the hamster on a towel.
Dry very carefully; be careful of the hamster鈥檚 legs.
Then, get a hairdryer and put it on its lowest setting. Hold it very far from the hamster and always keep your hand between the dryer and the hamster to avoid burning the skin.
Wash your hamster on a warm day if possible to lessen chances of getting a chill.
Make sure the fur is completely dry before returning the hamster to its cage or the shavings will stick to the damp fur.
I have read so much on Hamsters in the last two weeks.
The suggestion for washing your hamster that I have seen the most is to use a Unscented Baby wipe or a damp wash cloth.
Get those fresh wipes and gently but firmly rub his firm
in upwardand backward motions.
Do this all over but not his face,
if this doesnt help consult a vet!
Good Luck
Yes it is!
Well, sort of.
I used a spray-on small animal shampoo and combed it through his fur with a very soft bristled toothbrush.
Use a damp tooth brush. Not one that you use for brushing your teeth. Also don't over wet it just wet it once and semi dry it with somthing dry. So yeah don't over wet it otherwise your hamster could get wetail. I hope this helps.
No clean his cage. Usally they smell like because they step in their poo. So clean the cage
