Is it really bad if a hamster is loseing hair?

I just adopted this fancy hamster about a week ago and today l just notice that she has some hairloss. she is eatting and drinking and is active. What does it mean if she's loseing hair? Is there anything l can do to help her?
Answers:
More than likely it's nutrition. I'd take her to the vet just to be sure it's nothing else like ringworm, and that way you can get medicine if it's needed
I don't know take himm to a vet soon.
yes it's bad maybe you could give your pet a check up
Take her to the vet for a skin scraping to be done, this can be anything from a dietary issue to mange. Is the skin dry feeling or scabby like to the touch, this is more indicative of mange. Don't take any chances here, if it's mange, it's very contagious and can be spread to other animals. Wash your hands very well and use a hand sanitizer as an extra precaution. I lost a hamster to mange due to him being an older hamster. He was a dwarf that was 19 months old.
Check her cage to see if she's eating and not hoarding the pellets or other parts of the food, if so this may be dietary related.
We have been through 6 cases of mange in rescued animals and some hamsters contracted it by being next to affected hamsters caged with the mange. Now we move the affected animals away from the general population of animals to help keep the spread of it down and we store a large bottles of sanitizer next to the cages in all areas (we only had one before).
It might not be bad if its old or stressed.Sometimes when they're stressed they'll experience hairloss. If it isn't that old and hasn't had anything stressful, such as food or enviorment changes and it's not just a little, but severe hairloss I would take it to the vet.
I take my hamster on regular check up to the vets as he has now just turned one and i want to keep him in tip top condition. the one thing my vet always checks for is hair loss. This does happen to all hamsters when they reach a ripe old age, but is also a sign of a hormonal imbalance.
Depends. Where does she lose her hair? If it's behind the ears, I don't think there is a problem since my hamsters have had hair loss in that place with no particular problems along side it.
she may be stressed about her new enviornment. hair loss is not natural, and can be due to stress or something like fleas. i recommend taking her to a vet very soon, within a few days at the most.
Deficiencies in the following can cause hair loss, although they usually have other symptoms:
Protein ~ Found in Peas, Beans, Soya, Cheese
Vitamin B ~ Found in Oat Flakes, Greens, Fruit, Clover, Dog Biscuits, Grains
Magnesium ~ Found in Greens , Grains
Make sure your hamster gets a varied diet, but remember not to give too much greens
