Is it weird for girls to like rodents?

I like rats, hamsters are guinea pigs and people make fun of me!

When I was growing up, I had (not all at once!) a guinea pig, a hamster and two rats that were sisters. I also had goldfish (what kid hasn't) and a turtle, too. Oh, and by the way I also like dinosaurs and insects-- I had a praying mantis for a pet once. I turned out okay!
If rodents are what YOU like, that's what YOU like. It's who you are. Anyone who makes fun of you just for being who you are isn't your friend!
heck no
nope its not weird...
i guess it is fine........
Haha my roommate LOVES rodents...she loves to touch and play with them. I just figured she has a specialty with animals. So no, I don't think it's weird for your to like rodents at all. Rodents CAN be cute...furry, small, etc.
I, on the other hand, hate rodents. The closest I can get is looking at our family's pet guinea pig, but I never touch or pet it at all. Rodents just creep me out, especially since I hate rats, so any other rodent like hamsters, etc. creeps me out.
no way, i think that is very cool. dont ever let people tell you it is weird. just because your a girl doesnt mean you cant be into rodents as pets.
Hi! OMG! I am the same as you! I absoulutely LOVE hamsters, guinea pigs and EVERY kind of rodent possible. People give me strange looks, but hey! Rodents are the best! I love them, and i am not ashamed. You shouldn't be too!
RODENT PRIDE~~
PS. i keep 2 hamsters, and a guinea pig. I want to get a pet rat!
lol no. just cuz you're a girl doesn't mean you can't like certain things! don't let people make fun of you. stand up for what you believe in !
no way i LOVE!! them so much.
Its not weird. The people who make fun of you are mean and even weirder then what they think you are. My friend is in love with hamsters and when people make fun of her she agrees with them, so the people who tease her stop the teasing cause they find out that it doesn't bother her.
It's not weird at all! Many girls like animals that are cute and fuzzy. Rodents are cute and fuzzy! Puppies and Kittens are cute and fuzzy too! So what's the difference between liking something cute and fuzzy, or liking something cute and fuzzy?
I rest my case.
NO I like them too and I am female.I also like IGUANAS FROGS TOADS SQUIRRELS CHIPMUNKS and other stuff like that so you aren't wierd at all and if you are then you are not alone
It's not weird to for a girl or anyone else to like rodents. I like all kinds of critters. As for the people that make fun of you just ignore them.
No way don't listen to them there is nothing wrong with that
Rodents are great companions %26 lots of fun. People who try to tell you what you should or shouldn't like are the weird ones.
No i think that girls like rodents more than guys do. As long as u don't have to many pets and u don't obsess about them it is fine
No its not. Those people are just jerks and I bet if you show them a rodent they will scream and run away :D
I love all animals, but especially dogs and rodents. I don't think it's weird at all. If you think about it, they're often the 'first pets' we have as children...so you get attached young.
It depends on who you ask. Some people might say that it is weird some will say it isn't. If you ask me it is not weird for girls to like rodents.
I don't think its weird at all
I like all rodents, besides the undomesticated ones that run through our walls (but thats a different story)
the only thing that i cant see liking are thier teeth
absoulutly not ! i never thought i would like those critters until my son got mice rats hamsters they are really neat litltle critters. we don't have a guinea pig yet but i'm sure theres one that will show up soon! enjoy your pets and don't worry what other people think they are the ones who are missing out
i certainly hope not otherwise im wierd to
id rather like my rats, than most other people i meet, to be honest, as they dont show thie ignorance and prejudices that people do
as proven by your question
let me tell you a story about one of our rats
my son is autistic and he couldnt speak for may many years, no matter what therapy or interventions were trid nothing could 'switch the lightbulb on'
along came goldie, a pink eyed fawn hooded, my son fell in love with her and her with him, they were inseperable, many nights we'd go to check on him and find her curled up on his pillow where he had sneaked her out. that rat asked for nothing from him except love but gave so much back.
through her he started to form words and then sentences. goldie would 'say' things to him and he would say to us ' goldie says its time i had a drink' or 'goldie says i dont like that food', we knew it was his way of communicating to us his needs and wants through her.
over time he stopped talking 'through' her and began talking directly to us. she had helped him to break the barrier because she expected nothing from him, no responses, no urgency no nothing, just gave him space and time with no impressions or disapointments
today my son is working, learning to drive, taking advanced exams in higher maths,biology,chemistry,enviro... science learning to socialise and learning to live independantly. he is still and always will be autistic but he's far far far removed from the 'vegetable' that he was written off as when he couldnt speak or interact
now we as his parents had an awful lot to do with how he is now, and his determination to own his autism rather than be owned by it has got him to be where he is .
but to my dying day i will believe that without goldie coming into his life he would never have spoken and would have just been written off rather than being the total star and example to all that he is now
so no sweetheart you aint wierd at all
Not at all. I love most rodents - I'm not to fussed about rats as for some reason I have this stereotypical image of a smelling, biting ball of fluff. Mice, hamsters and guinea pigs - especially guinea pigs - are awesome pets and I love all of my pets dearly.
It's not weird at all!

  1. Why should it be weird? Actually, girls like rodents more, because they're small and cute; boys prefer things that don't break so easily, right?
It's only because they have heard stereotypes of it =]
