No onions. The lists of food already given are okay, but make sure to take the food out of the cage as soon as the hamster has finished with what he wanted, to avoid food staling. Don't give them melon or any other easily perishable foods. When giving some mixed cereals and nuts, make sure there is NO ammonium in the ingredients. If you have more than 1 hamster, you will notice that they all have different tastes. Don't give them hazelnuts or fatty nuts in the hot Summer months. I grow my own hand-cutting lettuce (salatina) in flower pots and give them a few plants now and then (without the roots and earth). They also like a wet finger of extra-vergine olive oil, you'll notice how well groomed they will be after this finger-licking delight.
no, it is not OK to give you hamster onions. here are some things you can give him or her:lattes, carrots, little of cooked meat, walnuts, peanuts, almonds, Cheerios, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds.make sure that the food I listed don`t have salt.
