Is it normal for hamsters to stuff wood-chips and cardboard in their pouches?

One of my hamsters has been stuffing her pouch with wood-chips (from the cage floor) and cardboard bits (which are for their bedding). I don't really know where they all end up, whether it's in her stomach or if she spits it out later. Is this usually normal for hamsters do this?
Answers:
She's just gathering nesting material to make a comfy bed. I don't know about your wood chips but some brands are rather hard/sharp and are possibly unsafe for her pouches. If you tear up some soft toilet paper she should prefer and use this instead. It's safer than having her pouch wood chips.
yes it is perfectly fine .....i think
very!
She's gathering and stores it. You may notice it later somewhere in her cage. You may also notice her taking her food nibbles and packing as much as she can into her pouches too. Its just built in.
yes it is very normal. they are trying to make their favorite sleeping area warm and comfortable. hamsters will stuff anything into their mouths.
its normal all right
It is perfectly normal. Our hamsters do it all the time. They move that stuff around to make a really cozy be in some other spot.
