When I take my guinea pig outside he immediatley runs to the grass and eats it. Is it ok for him to do that?

yeah that's good for them when my fiance and i take ours in the backyard she chews on the grass and she's fine
IT IS THEY LIKE IT AND IT HAS FIVER THAT HELPS THE WITH DIGESTION

Just be sure it comes from an area that has no pesticides or fertilizers. Also stay away from any roadside grass that might be contaminated with car fumes, oil, dirt, etc. I don't let my piggies on our freshly mowed areas due to the fumes, oil, etc. from our tractor mower.

Grass is vital for guinea pigs health. Make sure the grass isn't sprayed with chemicals though.
fresh grass is great for a guinea pig as long as it hasnt been exposed to anything harmful, fertalized, or recently mowed. also they cant eat the dry cut grass thats been cut by the lawn mower.
Fresh grass is wonderful for your piggy. They love it and it is very healthy for them, you just have to watch out for the following:
1. Your grass hasn't been treated - if it has wait a few days - 5 to be safe.
2. Watch out for birds, guinea pigs are prey animals.
3. Have your guinea pig in a play pen so that he doesn't run away.

Just to add to the other answers, make sure the area is not one that a cat or dog or any animal uses the bathroom on. illnesses can be contracted that way.
it's fine but MAKE ABSOLUTE SURE that there is no pesticides or anything on/in your grass it can kill them. if you find out there is pesticides on the grass cease any activity on the grass and maybe go to the vet.

yes its fine, my hamsters used to eat it and it never did them any harm but funny enough they all died the next day! no im joking he'l be fine dont worry!
